Got a bunch of links to track? No problem — import them with ease!
Here’s how: Locate ClickWhale in the sidebar navigation and open the ‘Tools’ admin pageand select the ‘Import’ from the Tab-Navigation.
Upload CSV file #
Choose the CSV file to import and proceed by clicking the ‘Upload Import File‘ button.
Column mapping #
Once your file is uploaded, you will be taken to the Column Mapping. Here, you can customize which columns should be mapped to which fields. When you’re satisfied with your customization, click Continue.
Edit fields #
You will then be taken to the Edit Fields. From there, you can edit or delete the links
For instance, you need to set the link to nofollow and sponsored. You can do so by ticking the checkbox.
Upon completing all customizations and selections, click the Run Importer button.
Import #
A list of the successfully uploaded links will be displayed.
And you’re done. You may return to the Links tab and review all the uploaded links. Just click the ‘Go To Links’ button.

What file format is required to import links?
ClickWhale imports links using a CSV file. Before importing, make sure your links are saved in CSV format.
Can I customize how my CSV columns are imported?
Yes. During the Column Mapping step, you can choose which columns from your CSV file correspond to the available ClickWhale link fields.
Can I edit imported links before completing the import?
Yes. The Edit Fields step lets you review your imported links and modify settings before running the importer. For example, you can enable attributes such as nofollow or sponsored for your links.
What happens after the import is complete?
After the importer finishes, ClickWhale displays a list of the successfully imported links. You can then select Go To Links to review and manage them in the Links section.
Will importing links overwrite my existing ClickWhale links?
No. The import process adds the links from your CSV file. If you need to modify existing links, review them after the import is complete.
Can I change the column mapping for different CSV files?
Yes. Each time you import a CSV file, you can configure the column mapping to match the structure of that file before continuing with the import.
What should I do if some imported data doesn’t appear correctly?
Check that your CSV file is formatted correctly and verify the column mapping before running the importer. Incorrect column mapping may cause data to be assigned to the wrong fields.
Can I edit imported links after the import is complete?
Yes. Once the import is finished, you can edit any imported link from ClickWhale > Links, just like links created manually.
